What happened, before the ink was dry, was the oil companies' executives were on the phone to each other getting ready to raise the price. From then on, using anything that looked like a threat to the production of oil they would raise the price of gasoline over night. They were much slower bringing the price down when the threat failed to materialize.
The high cost of gasoline is passed down to the consumer of every product sold or manufactured in the US, artificially driving the cost of living higher and higher. The oil corporate big shots would have you believe diesel fuel costs more to refine than gasoline. Why has the Trucking and diesel industry let them get away with this?
Haven't any of you wondered why, after making ($ Millions), the oil companies haven't built a state of the art refinery in Ga., S.C. or N.C. A new refinery would help in times of plant fires or hurricanes in the gulf. It's an excuse to keep the price of gasoline high.
This single act was to be one of the catalysts, to start the economic down fall of the American Economy. The Congress and the President could help the economy immediately by regulating the price of oil again.
Today, 2011, OPEC has reduced the price of crude oil, but the price of gasoline is being held artificially high by a group of money hungry people called "syndicates" who buy oil futures at $1.00 and sell for triple the price. They do this claiming, oil shortages in the future will cause a run on all petroleum products and cause a shortage, so they can't make a living then. So they want it now ! ! !
Congress and the President, can and should put REGULATIONS back on the oil industry, which would cause the country to start healing it's financial wounds. I don't care who does it... just get it started and to HELL with the money lobbyist. We the people are at war with big money lobbyists and we are losing.
